All "seniors" who are 55 years old or older are invited to participate in the annual Burbank Senior Games. The goal of the Games is to showcase the skills of the participants in a fun, social environment. The competition may be fierce, but fun is had by all who compete! Burbank Senior Games take place each May in conjunction with Older American's Month.
Sports and events included in the Burbank Senior Games include tennis, skip-bo, party bridge, golf, bowling, cribbage, fun walk, horseshoes, pool, softball, and other events that may change annually. Participants are required to bring their own sporting equipment to the events. Competitors may participate in more than one event, but it's the competitor's responsibility to ensure that there isn't a time conflict for the events.
At the conclusion of the Burbank Senior Games, an awards ceremony luncheon is held, and the event winners are announced. All participants receive a shirt, hat or a canvas bag with the Burbank Senior Games logo.
Each year, the primary event sponsors are Joslyn Senior Center and the City of Burbank Park, Recreation & Community Services Department.
