Burbank Aviation Museum

Burbank Aviation Museum
Burbank Aviation Museum in Valhalla Memorial Park.

The Burbank Aviation Museum is an all volunteer group established in 1991 to recognize and preserve Burbank, California's notable aviation history. With the help of aviators, engineers, designers, fabricators and other people interested in Burbank's aviation history, the museum has had the opportunity to collect and preserve significant memorabilia.

Through through public meetings, newsletters, media support, swap meets, attendance at various City and Airport Authority events, the Burbank Aviation Museum has been able to proudly highlight this history of aviation in Burbank.

The Museum currently resides in a temporary location at the Portal of the Folded Wings at Valhalla Memorial Park. The hours of operation vary depending on the season, so it's best to check their website before you visit.

According to the Museum's website, famous aviators who spent considerable time in Burbank include Howard Hughes, Amelia Earhart, Kelly Johnson, Roscoe Turner, Charles Lindbergh, Anne Lindbergh, Paul Mantz, Jack Northrop, and Wiley Post. Burbank was also home to aircraft companies that included Lockheed Aircraft, Menasco Motors, Pacific AirMotive, Vega Aircraft, Weber Aircraft, Flying Tigers Airline, Hydro-Air Corporation, Slick Airways, Harry Hector Aviation, Bandi Hinges, Monks Machining, C&S Propellor, and Burns Aeroseat.

Visiting this Museum is a great opportunity to learn about Burbank's place in the aviation history of the United States, as Burbank was once (and still is) home to a thriving aviation industry.
