The annual Burbank International Film Festival held in Burbank, California, is a week-long event that celebrates the city's rich cinematic and motion picture history. The week kicks off with a golf tournament and an opening ceremony, celebrating the history of the festival.

The city of Burbank is known as the "Media Capital of the World" because of the number of media companies located within the city's borders, including Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Studios, ABC, NBC, and dozens of other smaller studios and production companies.

The Burbank Film Festival captures its home city's rich history and movie making magic by promoting fresh pieces of cinematic art by up and coming filmmakers from around the world. The event is held on the campus of Woodbury University in the Fletcher Jones Foundation Auditorium in Burbank, CA.

Throughout the week of the Film Festival, there are several special events, seminars, discussion panels, and speakers covering a variety of topics related to the film industry. An award ceremony is held at the end of the Festival, and awards are given in a variety of categories including Feature, Short, Documentary, Student, Socially Conscious, and several other categories. Submissions are accepted throughout the year, but close shortly prior to the event.
