Burbank, CA - One of the greatest traditions in the city of Burbank, California is the annual fireworks display after the Star Spangled Salute To America at the Starlight Bowl. This concert not only kicks off the Starlight Bowl Summer Concert Series, but it is also a great way to celebrate the fourth of July. On July 4, 2009, gates open at 6:00 pm, entertainment runs from 6:30 - 9:00 pm, and the fireworks show follows at 9:00 pm (weather permitting).
This year, the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra will kick off the Patriotic concert, which always features crowd favorite music and sing alongs. The BPO is led by Conductor Steven Kerstein and it features Violinist Anne Lee and the singing of Athena Mertes.
Following the BPO performance, the Swing Kings, a highly versatile dance band, will kick things into an even higher gear. The Swing Kings are known for an energetic and entertaining show, featuring everything from Swing, Latin, R and B, Disco, Rock and Funk music. Be ready to dance and sing with the Swing Kings!
