Burbank, California is home to two Rotary Clubs, Rotary Club of Burbank and Rotary Club of Burbank Sunrise. Both clubs are affiliated with Rotary International, a community service organization that boasts an international membership of over 1.2 million people. The Rotary Club motto of "Service Above Self" is demonstrated in the community service projects sponsored and organized by these two Rotary Clubs.
Rotrary Clubs are sponsors of the Interact Club, which is found at local high schools, including John Burroughs High School. This gives high school students the opportunity to participate in community service activities under the guidance of community leaders who make up the Rotary Clubs.
Both Rotary Clubs are members of Rotary International District 5260. The Rotary Club of Burbank holds their meetings every Tuesday at 12:00pm at the Burbank YMCA, and the Rotary Club of Burbank Sunrise meets every Tueday morning at 7:15am at the Holiday Inn.
The mission of Rotary International, a worldwide association of Rotary clubs, is to provide service to others, to promote high ethical standards, and to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
