Burbank Temporary Aid Center provides help to those in need.

Since its founding in 1974, Burbank Temporary Aid Center (commonly referred to as BTAC) has been helping low income and homeless individuals and families who live in the Burbank community. BTAC is a 501 c(3) designated non-profit organization that is overseen by a Board of Directors made up of volunteers who are active in the community and have diverse backgrounds.

BTAC provides its clients with a variety of programs and services, some of which include: groceries, daily lunches for the homeless, senior citizen food distribution, utility bill assistance, transportation assistance, medical assistance, temporary shelter housing, shower facilities for the homeless, laundry for the homeless, and a Christmas gift program for needy children.

BTAC relies on the support of individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, the City of Burbank, and other government agencies to enable it to provide their services to the community. BTAC is also supported by local restaurants and businesses.

Throughout the year, BTAC is involved with several privately organized food drives sponsored by businesses and community groups. Additionally, BTAC raises funds during the year with an annual dinner gala, mail solicitations, and several activities during "BTAC Week," held annually each November.

Burbank Temporary Aid Center Mission Statement:

1. To provide assistance to low- income and homeless individuals and families who live in Burbank. This assistance may take the form of daily sack lunches, groceries, assistance with electric and gas bills, transportation assistance, limited prescription and medical support, assistance in obtaining emergency shelter, and in referrals to other community resources. BTAC will continue working to identify additional forms of assistance required by our clients, and to secure the resources needed to provide those services.

2. To offer this aid to residents of Burbank from a central location with regular business hours.

3. To cooperate with other service providers to assess and address community needs.
