The city of Burbank Park, Recreation, and Community Services Division manages Burbank's Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (Burbank RSVP). RSVP operates Joslyn Adult Center, an adult services center for people who are 55 and older. Joslyn is a place for adults to be active in the community and receive support from other adults 55+ and professionals. Joslyn organizes day trips, senior activities, social events, and volunteer opportunities to keep Burbank senior citizens active and involved in the community.
Joslyn partners with a number of local organizations to offer volunteer positions in Burbank. Some of these partners include BTAC, Bob Hope Airport, Burbank Farmer’s Market, Burbank City Hall, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, and many other local agencies.
Each year, Joslyn Adult Center coordinates and organizes the Burbank Senior Games, a fun and social competition featuring bowling, golf, tennis, and several other events and games. Seniors from around the area participate in the annual event, which culminates with an awards ceremony luncheon honoring participants.
Joslyn produces a monthly newsletter called "Best of Times," which can be read at the Center or downloaded online. The newsletter includes information about seniors' events, volunteer opportunities, dinners, health screenings, and day trips.
Other Senior Centers in Burbank include McCambridge Recreation Center and the Tuttle Center.
